Affordable Coliving Fesability Study

The housing association, Stonewater. contacted us to develop a retrofit design for converting an existing shared living & affordable housing asset called the 'Foyer' in Abingdon, Oxford, U.K. , into a circa thirty bedroom affordable coliving asset.
Wellstudio carried out a Feasibility Study for the building to determine the interventions required to convert it into a coliving accommodation. We analysed the existing building in terms of it's spatial layout, urban location, structure and sun path, created a series of concepts for it's conversion and proposed two spatial design options (small and large scale) both of which we considered potentially viable in terms of planning, which could be evaluated and looked at by Stonewater's Quantity Surveyor in terms of construction cost.
The client is very pleased with the result but has put the project on hold due to Covid.
